"Harry Sultenfuss" is a widower and funeral director who does not understand his daughter and he has been single ever since his wife died. Over the course of the film, he meets “Shelly DeVoto”, whom he hires to work at his funeral home. They become a couple, but “Harry’s” relationship with his daughter suffers. After “Thomas’” death, “Vada” accuses her father of caring more about the dead than the living.
