After completing his education in 2003 he took a gap year working on a cattle ranch in Australia, as his father had done before him. In November 2003 he played in the Young England versus Young Australia Polo Test match, which was held near Sydney. He also travelled to Lesotho where he helped build a clinic for an orphanage for children suffering from AIDS. Whilst there he produced the documentary film "The Forgotten Kingdom" to help raise awareness of the plight of children suffering form the disease.
