"Charlie" is first introduced as a intelligent and spunky woman who "Maverick" attempts to flirt with at the beginning of the movie. In true Hollywood fashion, she happens to be a teacher at "Top Gun". "Maverick's" relationship with "Charlie" grows stronger throughout the movie to the point where she criticizes his dangerous behavior.
