The story of "Remmington Steele", who is played by Pierce Brosnan, actually starts with private detective "Laura Holt". "Laura" decided name the detective agency "Remington Steele" to trick her clients into thinking that the agency was run by a man. At some point during the show a mysterious man appears and takes on the "Remington Steele" persona. His real identity is one of the biggest questions the series has to offer.
