William Shatner plays the role of "Denny Crane" on the show. He is one of the named partners of "Crane, Pool & Schmidt". He is very conservative lawyer who, over his 50-year-long career, has presumably never lost a case. "Crane" is also known never to take cases where the criminal himself committed any heinous crimes.
