Cambridge graduate Hugh Laurie first became known in the UK as part of the comedy duo "Fry and Laurie" with his friend Stephen Fry. However, he became a household name all over the world when he starred as "Dr. Gregory House" in the medical drama series "House" from 2004 to 2012. The Guinness World Records listed him as "the most watched leading man on television" in 2011!
As well as playing "Richard Roper" in "The Night Manager" he has also starred in the sitcom "Veep" and the TV series "Chance". He has been nominated for ten Primetime Emmy Awards and has won three Golden Globe Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Laurie is also a talented musician and has released two blues albums, "Let Them Talk" and "Didn't It Rain". In 1996 he wrote his first novel "The Gun Seller", which became a best-seller. He has been married to Jo Green since 1989 and they have three children.
