One scene in "Back to the Future" almost ended in a catastrophe for Michael J. Fox. The film's baddie "Mad Dog", played by Thomas F. Wilson, tries to hang Michael J. Fox's character "Marty McFly". Michael J. Fox didn't manage to get his hand between his neck and the loop around his neck in time, and so hung for a whole half a minute, until the film crew realised what had happened and rescued him.
