Quentin Tarantino wanted everything to look as authentic as possible in his film "Inglorious Basterds", which is why he decided that it would be a good idea if Diane Kruger was actually strangled (oddly, by Tarantino himself), instead of having Christoph Waltz pretend to do so. During the stunt Kruger lost consciousness.
