In "Star Wars VI - Return of the Jedi" the rebels, along with "Han Solo" and "Luke Skywalker", try to defeat the Empire. At the end of the film, they are successfully are able to kill the Emperor and destroy the Death Star. Originally, however, "Han Solo" was meant to die at the end of the film. A happy ending was decided upon in the end though.
