Joana Kerns (62) played the mother of the family, "Maggie Seaver". After "Growing Pains" had ended in 1992, Kerns went back to her real passion: directing. As a Director she was at the helm for some episodes of "Dawson's Creek", "Scrubs", "Grey's Anatomy", among others. But she also never stopped acting: starred alongside Angelina Jolie in "Girl, Interrupted", as well as in the series "Office Girl" or most recently in the comedy "Knocked Up".
