Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in “Romeo + Juliet“ from 1996. The movie tells the legendary love story between “Romeo“ (Leonardo DiCaprio) and “Juliet“ (Claire Danes) in a much more modern way than Shakespeare did. The “Montagues“ and the “Capulets“ are warring mafia families in this setting and instead of swords they use guns. Besides the plot being more modern, the love and the risks the lovers are taking by acting out their feelings are not any less convincing.
