After "Roswell" eventually ended in 2001, Heigl was able to star in a number of TV movies. She got the role of "Izzie Stevens" for the series "Grey's Anatomy" back in 2005, and therefore got her big breakthrough in show business. Heigl left the show to concentrate on her movie career.
