Catherine Mountbatten-Windsor, Duchess of Cambridge, was born Catherine Elizabeth „Kate“ Middleton in 1982. Since 2011, Catherine is married to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. They got married in April 2011 in Westminster Abbey, London. Having the whole world watching her, Catherine gave birth to Prince George in July 2013, followed by Princess Charlotte in May 2015. By now, Duchess Catherine is known as Prince William‘s wife as well as a British fashion-idol. This phenomenon even has a name: The „Kate Middleton effect“.
