Moore started her acting career at the age of 19 with the role of "Jackie Templeton" in the soap opera "General Hospital". In 1983, after a year of being on the show, she moved on to movie projects such as " Blame it on Rio" and "St. Elmo's Fire". Soon afterwards she was able to get her big break playing the role of "Molly Jensen" alongside word famous actor Patrick Swayze in the fantasy comedy "Ghost".
