"Eric Taylor" is the varsity football coach of the "Dillon" Panthers". "Taylor" has some difficutly adjusting to "Dillon's" alarming passion for football at the beginning of the series. He leads both "West" and "East Dillon" High School to the state championship over the five seasons of the show. "Eric Taylor" transcends the role of the coach and actually is a father figure for many of his players.
