It was by far one of the most tragic deaths in TV history. At the end of the 11th season of the show, "Dr. Derek Shepherd" (Patrick Dempsey) got into a vicious car accident and sadly passed away. "Shepherd" left behind his wife "Meredith Grey" (Ellen Pompeo) and his kids. Fans were so shocked that they even started a petition to get Dempsey's character back on the air.
